After a long day of welcoming lost souls to the afterlife, Death hangs up his scythe and rests his weary bones on an old leather armchair in front of the fire. ‘Summoning the spirits’, he reaches for his favourite tipple and pours it slowly from its skull bottle into an ornate chalice. The emerald fumes rise delicately into the room as The Green Fairy dances through the Reaper’s head, lulling him into a much-needed sleep. The night ahead is one of vivid and powerful dreams.
